The esteemed Marc Masters and I collaborated on a very short, two part piece about "Rocking and Rollin'". Honored! Check it out here.
Rocking and Rollin'
My third album, Rocking and Rollin', is here. I am so happy to finally share this thing that's been over three years in the making. It's the most eclectic one of the bunch and my hope is that there's something on it for everyone. Deepest gratitude to Greg Hartunian, Alex Fischel, Joshua Sushman, Amy Egerton-Wiley and A Giant Fern for making this possible. Peace and love forever, hope you enjoy.

Jeph Jerman - "Exploded View" | Steady Hand Records
SH 001 Jeph Jerman "Exploded View" C50.
Jeph Jerman is a musician in Cottonwood Arizona. He started playing the drums as a teenager and spent years in bar bands around the US. Later on, his focus in music became improvisation and experimenting with field recording, home-built instruments and electronics. He released music under the alias Hands To starting in the mid eighties. More recently he’s founded the Animist Orchestra project; a makeshift ensemble of musicians playing pinecones, feathers, sticks and rocks among other things. Jeph writes the score and provides some of the instruments, then the Animist Orchestra tries to emulate as big of a rumble as possible with what they have. In 2014 he received an artist grant from the Foundation for Contemporary Art. Jeph has a long-running duo with Sonic Youth collaborator Tim Barnes. Together they’ve released a number of records, latest of which was called “Goethe” on Confront, and frequently tour. This new release, titled “Exploded View” is really something. It demonstrates Jeph’s characteristic ability to be delicate with harsh sound artifacts and navigate the improvised plane with ultimate attention to detail. This work exposes a level of artistry only someone who’s been at it for over 40 years can really pull off.
