In celebration of the birth of Idiopathic Records, our band Coward will play two shows this month: Oct. 20 and 27 in Oakland and LA respectively.  We'll be joined by a handful of excellent acts (including a solo set of mine in LA).  Please come out if you're in the area(s).

Holy Cheever Church

Very grateful to Chris Riggs (formerly Oberlin/Detroit) in Chicago for putting out two new releases of music I helped make.  The first is an hour long free improv I recorded with Ian McColm at the end of our silent film accompaniment tour in June at his home in Alexandria, VA.  Second is the premiere release by my new band Coward with Kiran Arora (ex-Brutes).  Also an uncut free improvisation, "Dragged On Asphalt" comes from the first of many sessions we'd ever played together.  Very proud of both of these and of all the new music on Riggs' Holy Cheever Church Recordings.

video: Indoor, one.

So grateful for the work of Robben T. Munoz in putting together this fascinating video for my track "Indoor, one."  Between the furious energies of camera movement and lights, to stark landscapes and superimposed E.E. Cummings text, I can't imagine something more fittingly suggestive with an exploring affect that much of this solo release intends to create.  The music comes from the first track of my forthcoming record "Routine Symptoms, due on Amok Recordings by the end of September.

Tombstones

Had the pleasure of performing Michael Pisaro's "Tombstones" last night at Oberlin's Fairchild Chapel. Performers included three recent artists in residency and several fellow students.
